KBS was contracted to complete the recovery of historical and architectural details including decorative plaster friezes, and rare inlay wall tiles. The project also includes coordinating LEED directed recycling efforts to maximizing waste diversion for volume materials.



Thomas Jefferson University

Philadelphia, PA

Working in collaboration with P.Agnes Inc. KBS is responsible for the recovery of granite and stone pavers as part of the university’s campus site development project.



Penn Valley

Select interior deconstruction of second floor of this fine Arts & Crafts styled residence. Complete dismantling of the attached wood framed porch, and recovery of heart pine posts and cedar joists for reuse in the planned improvements.

Also recovered for resale: (2) two six foot long cast iron claw foot tubs, (1) one case iron sink with posts and (10) 9’ foot tall window sashes.



West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Boys
School District of Philadelphia and Geppert Bros. Inc.

KBS was contracted by Geppert Bros., Inc. for the planned demolition of the gothic styled 1920’s high school buildings.The Colmar based firm utilized KBS to complete recovery of valuable masonry facade elements. The project required the successful recovery of three limestone date stones; recovery of limestone panels above the main entrance and along the roofline; recovery of granite steps and copings, and over 5,000 square feet of cut granite stone.

KBS performed the scope of work on schedule and without loss of the masonry elements.



Blue Elephant Farm

KBS completed select deconstruction of stable interiors a part of the planned renovation project by Bryant Phillips Construction Inc.



Lafayette School

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania





 

As part of the phase three activities, KBS completed the total deconstruction of this 120 year old stone building.

Materials recovered for resale included 200 cubic yards of Wissahickon shist stone, large brownstone architectural elements, dimensional I-beams, decorative cast iron posts and hemlock floor joists.
